Breast Augmentation + Lift
Breast Augmentation + Lift
Sometimes achieving your ideal silhouette requires more than one approach. Women who want to enhance their breasts but also have sagging or loss of firmness often find that neither augmentation nor lift alone gives them the results they're looking for. At May Plastic Surgery, Dr. Brian May combines these two procedures into one surgery, adding volume while also reshaping and repositioning the breasts for a fuller, more youthful appearance overall.

What is
Breast Augmentation + Lift
?
Breast augmentation with a lift combines two complementary procedures into a single surgery. The augmentation portion uses implants or fat transfer to increase breast volume and fullness, while the lift component removes excess skin and reshapes the breast tissue to create a perkier, more youthful position. Together, these techniques address what neither procedure can accomplish on its own: restoring both the size and shape you desire.

Combining augmentation with a lift allows Dr. May to create comprehensive improvements in a single surgery. This approach can address:
- Breasts that have lost volume and begun to sag
- Nipples that sit at or below the breast crease
- Deflated appearance following pregnancy or breastfeeding
- Asymmetry in both size and position
- Lack of upper pole fullness combined with drooping
- Breasts that appear elongated or flat
During your consultation, Dr. May will evaluate your anatomy and listen to your goals. Some patients benefit from augmentation alone, others from a lift alone, and many find the combination provides the most complete improvement. He'll give you his honest recommendation based on what will actually achieve the look you want.
Dr. May recognizes the real experiences that bring patients to his consultation room. Pregnancy, breastfeeding, weight fluctuations and the natural aging process all leave their mark on the breasts, affecting how you feel in your clothes, at the beach or in intimate moments. His approach to breast surgery helps you regain your confidence with beautiful results that enhance your natural contours, with an emphasis on restoring proportion and balance.
Dr. May's breast surgery experience spans the full range of procedures, from breast lifts and reductions to augmentations and revisions. He performs each with the same level of detail and precision his patients have come to expect, delivering results that look and feel natural. His thoughtful approach gives you the time, space and guidance to make decisions that are right for your body, helping you feel confident in your choices throughout the entire process.

The Best of Both Worlds
Procedure Details
At May Plastic Surgery, breast augmentation with lift is performed as an outpatient procedure under general anesthesia. Because two procedures are being combined, the surgery requires careful planning to ensure both techniques work harmoniously to provide optimal results.
Dr. May typically uses a lollipop or anchor incision pattern for the lift portion, depending on how much skin needs to be removed and reshaped. Through these incisions, he repositions the nipple and areola to a more youthful height, removes excess skin and reshapes the breast tissue. He then places the implant, most commonly in a submuscular position beneath the chest muscle, which provides natural-looking results and additional support for the lifted breast.
Implant selection is a collaborative decision. Dr. May offers silicone and saline options from trusted manufacturers, and he'll help you choose the size, shape and profile that complement your frame and achieve your goals. The combined procedure typically takes two to four hours to complete.

Recovery from a combined augmentation and lift requires a bit more patience than either procedure alone. You can expect swelling, bruising and some discomfort during the first week or two. Most patients take about two weeks before returning to work and normal activities, though strenuous exercise should wait until Dr. May clears you, usually around four to six weeks.
You'll wear a surgical bra during the initial healing period to support your breasts as they settle into their new shape. Some swelling may persist for several months, so your final results will continue to refine over time. Once fully healed, you'll notice breasts that are fuller, higher on the chest and more proportionate to your body.
