Procedure Details
The exact approach Dr. Brian May will use depends on which procedure or combination of procedures is being done. He will consider everything, including your anatomy and long-term considerations, plus the shape and proportion that you want.
Areola reduction is usually performed alongside a breast lift or reduction. It can be done alone, but there are limits to how much the areola can be reduced without affecting the contour of the breast. During nipple reduction, Dr. May can reduce both the diameter and projection of the nipple, and will choose the technique that gives you the best results based on your situation.
If you have an inverted nipple that you want to correct, Dr. May will make a small incision at the base of your nipple to release the tight bands that pull it inward. Bra roll liposuction is another procedure that is usually paired with other surgeries, often broader liposuction or breast surgery. Removing fat in this area can smooth the upper body and help create a narrower breast shape for those with breast tissue that extends onto the chest wall.
Recovery & Results
Recovery from these types of breast procedures can sometimes be shorter and more manageable than larger surgeries, but the exact timeline is different for everyone. You’ll need to treat incisions with care, and you may get special instructions for reducing swelling and managing tenderness. You can return to normal activities within a few days to a week, but you may still need to stay away from heavy lifting and intense exercise to give everything a chance to heal.

Adjustments to the nipple and areola are small and subtle, but they can make a big difference for those who have insecurities about these areas.
