What is

Breast Lift

?

A woman's curves are often essential to her sense of femininity, but over time, the breasts can stretch and sag due to factors like aging, pregnancy or breastfeeding. A breast lift, also known as mastopexy, is a surgical procedure that improves breast shape and position by removing excess skin and tightening the surrounding tissue. A breast lift can make the breasts look fuller and perkier without a dramatic change in size, restoring a more youthful appearance.

My goal is simple. I combine surgical precision with genuine, personalized care so every patient not only looks their best but feels seen, heard, and confident in their transformation.

- Dr. Brian May

Dr. May recognizes the real experiences that bring patients to his consultation room. Pregnancy, breastfeeding, weight fluctuations and the natural aging process all leave their mark on the breasts, affecting how you feel in your clothes, at the beach or in intimate moments. His approach to breast surgery helps you regain your confidence with beautiful results that enhance your natural contours, with an emphasis on restoring proportion and balance.

Dr. May's breast surgery experience spans the full range of procedures, from breast lifts and reductions to augmentations and revisions. He performs each with the same level of detail and precision his patients have come to expect, delivering results that look and feel natural. His thoughtful approach gives you the time, space and guidance to make decisions that are right for your body, helping you feel confident in your choices throughout the entire process.

“I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach and tailor every aspect of the procedure.”

Restore Your Natural Shape

Procedure Details

At May Plastic Surgery, breast lift surgery is performed as an outpatient procedure under general anesthesia. The specific technique Dr. May uses may vary depending on your unique anatomy, the degree of sagging, and your aesthetic goals.

For patients with moderate sagging, a lollipop incision may provide excellent results with more limited scarring. This approach uses an incision around the areola and vertically down to the breast crease. For more pronounced sagging, an anchor incision pattern allows Dr. May to reshape the breasts across all dimensions for more substantial and balanced results.

Breast lifts take about one to three hours to complete. If your surgical plan includes other procedures, such as breast augmentation, a tummy tuck or liposuction (combinations that are often part of a comprehensive mommy makeover), your procedure will take more time, but you'll benefit from addressing multiple areas at once with just one recovery period.

Content Management Systems (CMS) are essential tools for managing digital content. They allow users to create, edit, and publish content without needing extensive technical knowledge. A CMS streamlines the process of website management, making it accessible to a broader audience.
Using a Content Management System offers numerous advantages. It simplifies content creation, enhances collaboration among team members, and provides tools for SEO optimization. Additionally, a CMS can improve website security and ensure that content is consistently updated.
Selecting the appropriate CMS is crucial for your project's success. Factors to consider include ease of use, scalability, and the availability of plugins or extensions. Popular options include WordPress, Joomla, and Drupal, each catering to different user needs.
Ensuring the security of your CMS is vital. Regular updates, strong passwords, and user access controls are essential practices. Additionally, consider implementing security plugins and conducting regular backups to protect your content.
To maximize the effectiveness of your CMS, content optimization is key. This includes using relevant keywords, structuring content with headings, and incorporating multimedia elements. Well-optimized content improves user engagement and search engine rankings.
The landscape of content management is evolving rapidly. Emerging technologies like AI and machine learning are shaping the future of CMS, enabling more personalized user experiences and automating content management tasks.
Many businesses leverage CMS platforms for e-commerce. These systems provide tools for product management, payment processing, and customer engagement. Popular e-commerce CMS options include Shopify and WooCommerce.
Social media integration is essential for modern content strategies. Many CMS platforms offer plugins that allow seamless sharing of content across social media channels, enhancing visibility and engagement.
Staying updated with CMS trends is crucial for content creators. Key trends include headless CMS, increased focus on user experience, and the rise of no-code solutions, which empower users to create without programming knowledge.
To evaluate the effectiveness of your CMS, track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as user engagement, content reach, and conversion rates. Analyzing these metrics helps refine your content strategy and improve overall performance.

The first consultation is a genuine, thoughtful conversation. We want the experience to feel comforting and non-clinical while still meeting all the medical needs of our patients. We'll talk in-depth about your goals, concerns and medical history, and I'll perform a physical exam to help determine the best treatment options. I like to think that my approach is honest and educational. I want patients to leave feeling informed, not pressured. You'll receive a customized plan and have plenty of time to ask questions. This is your space to explore what's right for you. We'll also make sure to discuss skincare and how to properly prepare for surgery, as well as how to take care of your skin after surgery to ensure the best results possible.

All breast lifts involve some amount of scarring, but the degree depends on which technique is used to achieve your goals. In some cases, excellent lift and shape can be achieved using smaller incision patterns, such as the lollipop (vertical and periareolar) approach, but I've found that trying to force smaller incisions on a patient who really needs more correction can compromise the final result. For that reason, most of the breast lift patients end up with some form of an anchor incision, which goes around the areola, down vertically to the breast crease, and then along the breast crease itself. Fortunately, breast incisions tend to heal very well and can be concealed by most bras and swimwear. Most patients find that any scarring is a worthwhile trade-off for the improvement in overall breast shape and position.

Through meticulous planning, customization and execution. I use the latest surgical techniques and maintain a relentless commitment to continuous learning. I also set realistic expectations and follow patients closely during their recovery to ensure optimal results. It is my opinion that some plastic surgeons will simply do the procedure a patient asks for because their friend had it or because they read about it. I offer options and have in-depth conversations about the pros and cons of those options. If a patient's goals do not align with what I feel is a safe or appropriate treatment, I am more than comfortable telling them no or that I'm not their surgeon.
