Prejuvenation for All Skin Types
Not everyone needs an aggressive laser treatment. Sometimes, planning ahead is a better skincare strategy than trying to fix signs of aging that have become more pronounced. If your biggest concerns are early sun damage, an uneven skin tone or dullness, the MOXI laser by Sciton can help keep your skin bright and rejuvenated with little to no downtime.

What Is MOXI?
MOXI is designed for patients who want healthier, brighter skin without the downtime associated with more aggressive laser resurfacing. Rather than removing the outer layer of skin, MOXI stimulates renewal beneath the surface using fractionated, non-ablative laser energy. The treatment is gentle enough for all skin types and can be performed year-round, making it a popular option for both preventing and treating early signs of aging.

What Can MOXI Address?
MOXI provides improvements in skin quality without the long recovery required by deeper resurfacing. We commonly recommend MOXI to help with:
- Early sun damage and uneven pigment
- Fine lines
- A dull complexion
- Rough or even skin texture
- Melasma in carefully selected cases
As a “prejuvenation” treatment, MOXI is popular with younger patients who want to maintain a healthy glow, but it’s also a great choice for anyone who wants a gentler approach to laser rejuvenation. Plus, MOXI pairs beautifully with BroadBand Light™ (BBL) therapy for comprehensive results: BBL targets unwanted pigment and redness, while MOXI uses gentle fractional resurfacing to improve texture and overall skin quality.
The Art & Science of Aesthetic Treatments at May Plastic Surgery
At May Plastic Surgery, we believe the best treatment plan isn't necessarily the most complex one. It's the right one for you. That’s why every recommendation begins with understanding your goals and creating a plan that fits your anatomy, lifestyle, and long-term vision.
Our philosophy is rooted in comprehensive aesthetic care. Rather than viewing surgical and nonsurgical treatments as separate paths, we see them as complementary tools that work together to achieve natural, lasting results. Sometimes surgery is the best option. Sometimes filler, Sculptra or a series of laser treatments is all that's needed. More often, the best results come from thoughtfully combining multiple approaches over time.

Procedure Details
Most MOXI treatments take about 20 to 30 minutes to complete and are performed right here in our office. Depending on your goals and the depth of treatment, a topical numbing cream may be applied beforehand to keep you comfortable.
Once your skin is prepared, your provider glides the MOXI handpiece evenly across the treatment area, delivering fractionated laser energy in precise, overlapping passes. Patients often describe the sensation as warm with a mild prickling feeling that is well tolerated. Because MOXI is a gentle, non-ablative laser, the treatment is designed to refresh your skin without the prolonged recovery associated with more aggressive resurfacing.

Recovery & Results
One of the biggest advantages of MOXI is how little it disrupts your routine.
Most patients experience mild redness and warmth after treatment, similar to a light sunburn, which typically improves within a day or two. As your skin heals, you may notice tiny rough spots develop before naturally flaking away. This is a normal part of the renewal process.
While your skin is recovering, it's important to be gentle with it. Avoid harsh products and wear sunscreen daily to keep it protected. If you’re unsure which products to use, our team can provide you with personalized recommendations that match your needs and skin type.
After your MOXI treatment, you’ll notice brighter, healthier-looking skin within a couple of weeks. Results continue to develop as collagen production increases over the following months. Because MOXI improvements are gradual and cumulative, we typically recommend a series of three to four treatments spaced a few weeks apart for the best long-term outcome.
After completing this initial series, many patients incorporate MOXI into an ongoing maintenance plan to keep their skin healthy and glowing year-round.
